DOING WIFI RIGHT

Having a sound wired and wireless network in your home or business is no longer an afterthought. Whether occupants are working, doing homework, gaming or streaming, a robust wireless network is a necessity. You not only need to use the right hardware you also need that hardware in the right places so that you don’t have gaps in coverage. By using plans and building materials along with predictive software you can see how the wireless coverage will pan out before you cable for the first WiFi access point, and you also get an idea of how many access points you should use to get the coverage that you need.

HEAT MAPS

With heat maps you can get a really good idea of how the wireless signal will be propagated throughout the building. The above predictive heat map shows the projected signal strength at the customer’s facility if they kept with three WiFi access points and you can see the areas that would not have a strong enough wireless signal to be considered usable.

The heat map below shows the predicted coverage with the addition of two WiFi access points, giving a strong usable signal in all the areas of the facility where it’s important.
